Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a personalized full service ceremony cost and what does it consist of?

My fee depends on where your wedding ceremony takes place and the type of services you're looking for i.e. a simple civil ceremony or a full service wedding ceremony. My service area includes Santa Margarita, Paso Robles, Templeton, San Miguel, San Luis Obispo, Avila Beach, Los Osos/Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, 5 Cities Beach, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach,Santa Maria and Nipomo Mesa. Anything beyond these areas the fees will be based on distance, time and travel expenses. I require a 50% deposit and will take care of the remining balance on rehearsal evening. I make every effort to meet with each couple face to face prior to wedding day. Since a majority of my wedding couples are out of the area, I (we) will find away to connect up at some point and time. If for some reason we‘re unable to meet locally, we’ll make arrangements for a conference or Skype call. After our initial meeting or call, I will write two to three different ceremonies for you to review, afterwards we’ll choose the right one that will compliment your special wedding day. My full servce fee includes a written contract, unlimited consultation via email and telephone, plus time and travel to lead your rehearsal, officiate your wedding ceremony and take care of all legal paperwork including mailing back to the originatin county clerk's office. Once I speak with you and determine where the wedding will take place and the type of service you're look for, I will then formally quote you a price.

How long are your wedding ceremonies?

In my experience, the average time for a wedding ceremony is around 20 to 25 minutes.

Do we need to have a rehearsal?

I view the rehearsal as an extension of the entire wedding experience, with two primary goals in mind. The first is to provide a space for making connections between family and friends. The second goal (if you don’t have a wedding coordinator) is to walk through all of the “movements” of the ceremony, and to make sure the processional/recessional happens according to your desires. Rehearsals last approx. 45 minutes.

Do you have an assistant or person to back you up?

Yes, I have back up in the event of an emergency. However, in the years of doing this work, I have never been late nor missed a date!

What about a Marriage License ? Your local County Clerk’s office is where you’ll apply for a marriage license. You’ll sign the license at the time you apply and pay for it (don’t forget your ID’s). The license is good in all 58 counties of California. After the wedding, I will send in the finished paperwork for you, unless you decide otherwise

What is your Officiant and wedding  experience background?

I’m an ordained minister through the Conference on Practical Christianity. I have a solid background in the history of ritual, ceremony and the traditions of many cultures, beliefs and religions. I’m an expert at managing rehearsals and performing weddings and experienced in the art of ceremonial public speaking.

Do you provide your own microphone/sound system?

No. Most couples have DJ services, who can provide all the necessary sound and microphone equipment. If not, we’ll work with the venue event coordinator regarding a sound system.
